About Aric
Aric Streeter knew at a young age he was destined to be an engineer, gearhead, and speed freak. Erector sets at seven, breaking an arm practicing ill-advised two wheel gravity sports at eight, disassembling and rebuilding lawnmower engines at ten, gearing changes to Honda minibikes for measured top speed runs on frozen lakes at twelve, self-teaching mechanical drawing and CAD at fourteen, and many other similar stories naturally led to a Mechanical Engineering degree.
With a busy professional career spanning over twenty-five years of engineering ranging from automotive exhaust system design, mechanical and control system design, loudspeaker and audio amplifier design, and telecommunications system design and testing, Aric has always held on to his passion for speed - finding time to go fast, and figuring out how to make things go faster!
Aric has been doing engineering design and consulting work for some well-known projects and names in the industry for the last five years, but began with autocross in his teens, and dabbling in hill-climb racing in his twenties. He started rebuilding and reengineering race-centric vehicles in his 30s after starting a family, regularly fielding the cars he builds in time trial and HPDE events as well as in hill climb racing.
about jason
Jason grew up in the granstands at the Cleveland Grand Prix and peering over the fence at Mid Ohio, and dreamed of one day driving instead of watching. Building a successful race team alongside a driving career, he ended up racing and winning at the professional level at both the Cleveland GP track in MX-5 Cup, and Mid Ohio in SRO World Challenge.
Out of 62 Professional Race Starts, Jason has 13 Wins, 26 Podiums and 39 Top-5. Other notable accomplishments are the 2003/4 Solo2 National Championships, overall win at the Thunderhill 25-hr race, and multiple endurance class wins in races longer than 12-hrs. Jason has also aided in the development of dozens of new race cars from idea through construction and through optimization to a race-winning platform.
Driver coaching and development is another area he has spent considerable time doing alongside all of the above. He developed a popular driving/racing clinic in Texas, has extensive data-analysis expertise, and has coached drivers who are just starting out all the way up to professional drivers looking for the last few tenths. With YAWspeed, Jason can apply those skills to help our customers go faster, and prove our team abilities by racing the team’s Porsche Cayman in the Gridlife GLTC series.
About James
James fell into motorsports in their late 20's with an introduction track-day resulting from a hastily planned "brakepads-and-chill" brunch party with board members of GGC BMW CCA.
Since that time James has earned a M.S. in Statistics and has been leading R&D initiatives at large companies for nearly a decade.
Today James serves to bring his extensive R&D background to the measurement and advancement of engineering applications in grassroots motorsports.
